We conduct fieldwork across a variety of ecosystems, including urban brownfields, deciduous forests, coastal sage scrub, deserts, and other dryland systems.

 

In the field, we take measurements and collect samples, which we bring back to the lab to extract DNA and characterize microbial community composition and structure.
