Community

I conduct community engaged research, from citizen science to working with community health practitioners. I collaborate with several different stakeholders and organizations to explore

fungi and environmental problem solving.

Environmental
Justice

I work with researchers at UConn and the Hartford Land Bank to explore which fungi are found on contaminated urban yards.

I've been collaborating with the Center for Health Disparities Research Center and the BREATHE Center at UC Riverside to examine the impact of air quality on community health.

Conservation

I consider how human activities influence sensitive habitats and conservation outcomes, as well as how natural disasters and global change drivers are disproportionately affecting marginalized group and species of concern. I examine how invasive species and forage affect the behaviors of amphibians and reptiles in the Mojave Desert as well as in Northeast forests.
